Open Access

“In a digitised and networked information society, access to global information for the purposes of education and science must be guaranteed at all times from any place.”
Göttingen Declaration on Copyright for Education and Research dated 5 July 2004

The aim of open access is to enable the free availability and re-usability of academic/scientific information for everyone without any restrictions, especially of a financial nature. This approach is based on the idea that access to the scientific findings should be equal for all people.

HHU supports open access and has signed the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
